Holiday Workshop Series | Frontier Cultural Museum | 11 AM - Noon | Start your holiday season with a special guided tour of our historic houses decorated for the season. Each house is decorated appropriately to its time period, and you can see the emergence of modern holiday celebrations as you move through the museum. Your journey will end on the 1850s Virginian farm, where you can make a pomander, a historical aromatic decoration, from oranges and cloves!

The Nature Foundation at Wintergreen - With the holidays approaching, Crozet and surrounding areas are set to welcome friends, family, and visitors. One of the best parts of living here is access to spectacular hiking, and if you’re looking to explore the beauty of the Blue Ridge Mountains, Wintergreen is a top choice. Did you know that the Wintergreen area has over 30 miles of trails winding through mountains and valleys, ranging from easy walks to challenging climbs? This trail network offers incredible views and is maintained by the dedicated team at The Nature Foundation at Wintergreen.
Founded to protect the natural environment in and around Wintergreen, The Nature Foundation at Wintergreen is committed to preserving the land’s unique beauty and biodiversity. Through conservation work and community education, they maintain these trails so that hikers can experience the region's stunning landscapes while learning more about local flora and fauna.
If you’re planning a hike, here are a few tips to ensure a safe and enjoyable adventure:
Prepare for Rapid Weather Changes: Conditions in the mountains can change quickly, so bring layers.
Don’t Hike Alone: It's always safer and more enjoyable with a companion.
Respect the Terrain: Trails vary in difficulty, so choose one that suits your experience level.
Bring Water and a Snack: Staying hydrated and fueled is essential.
Be Aware of Wildlife: Respect the animals that call these trails home by keeping a safe distance.
Wear Appropriate Gear: Comfortable, sturdy shoes and weather-appropriate clothing are a must.

Trails at Wintergreen
Early Voting Up in Albemarle County Ahead of Election Results - As of this writing, the election outcome remains unknown, but one thing is clear: early voting is on the rise in Albemarle County. CBS19 reports that over 26,600 residents in the county have already voted early, surpassing the early voter turnout seen in the 2020 election, according to the county registrar. Additionally, 10,500 mail-in ballots were requested, with over 6,700 returned by Saturday.
