Around Town

Free Land Navigation Race at Mint Springs March 1st - A unique land navigation race will take place at Mint Springs Valley Park on March 1. The race is free to enter, family-friendly, and supports the Blue Ridge Area Food Bank, which provides over 150,000 meals per month.

No experience is necessary—just a sense of adventure! See you all out there.

Work Begins on Crozet Square Upgrades - Construction has officially started on improvements to The Square in Crozet. The project will upgrade 670 feet of roadway with new sidewalks, perpendicular parking, and changes to the Crozet Avenue intersection.

To improve traffic flow, the intersection will become right-turn-only—no left turns onto or from The Square. Southbound traffic on Crozet Avenue can access The Square via Library Avenue and Oak Street.

Fencing is now up as work gets underway.

New Pedestrian Crossing on 240 Improves Safety - A long-overdue upgrade is finally in place—a new pedestrian crossing on Route 240 at the Music Today building and Starr Hill.

People can now cross more safely to grab a pint, drop off mail at the Package Depot, or browse The Green Olive Tree. With the crossing in place, getting around just got a little easier and safer.

NASA Tracking Asteroid with Small Chance of Earth Impact in 2032 – Now a Bit More Likely - Remember that asteroid story from last week? Well, the probability of 2024YR4 impacting Earth has now increased to over 2%. While still a low risk, it's the highest impact probability of any known large asteroid. James Webb is even making this a priority since earth based observation is limited.

You can track its status here. We’ll keep you updated—because it’s definitely dinner table talk now!

Crozet United is here not only to keep you informed, but it is also your platform to celebrate Crozet and the people in it.

Share your good news—like team victories, community cleanups, or any positive updates—with us. Small or big we want to share the good things happening around town.
