Planning Ahead

CTC Race | October 26th | 10 AM | The Crozet Trails Crew is hosting its annual race day on Saturday, October 26th at 10 am at Crozet Park. This year’s event includes a 5K, Family Fun Run, and 10K options. By joining in, not only are you signing up for a rugged adventure through Crozet’s rustic trails, but you’re also helping fund the bridge that will link our communities together. Whether you’re in it to win the 5K and have a bridge named after you, enjoy a leisurely Family Fun Run, or test your endurance on the new 10k Trail Race, we’ve got you covered. This year we’re also excited to be offering chip timing.

After the race, join us for a fantastic post-race pancake breakfast at Crozet Park – complete with live music and refreshing beer, all to support the Crozet Trails Crew.

Want your event listed? Send us an email with the details. Basic event listings go for as low as $15 (non-profits are often listed at no charge). Lastly, this is a static newsletter, but life isn’t. Check to make sure the event is still happening before loading up your family of 7 for the trip.

Parkway Closed After Hurricane Helene - While fall is peak foliage season, options for leaf peeping will be limited as the full 500-mile length of the Blue Ridge Parkway is closed due to damage from Hurricane Helene. The National Park Service reports that closures will remain until staff can safely assess the park and clear storm debris. Over 200 NPS employees are actively assisting with recovery efforts across North Carolina and Virginia, but the timeline for reopening remains uncertain. Stay tuned for updates as recovery progresses.

Three Notch'd Center Moves Forward with Final Packet to Review Board – Final plans for the proposed Three Notch'd Center, a 23,120-square-foot, two-story building at the former site of the Green Olive Tree, were submitted to the Architectural Review Board on September 16th. Owned by the same individual that has requested a rezoning of the Beaver Hill Village, the envisioned building would have a mix of office and restaurant space with parking in the back. This development marks another step forward in the evolution of Crozet’s high visibility “entrance corridor” on Route 240.

Crozet Top Ten Neighborhoods? - Someone recently made a YouTube video ranking the top 10 neighborhoods in Crozet—quite a surprise! It says a lot about how much the area has grown, with enough neighborhoods to not only make a list but also leave several out.

Crozet United is here not only to keep you informed, but it is also your platform to celebrate Crozet and the people in it.

Share your good news—like team victories, community cleanups, or any positive updates—with us. Small or big we want to share the good things happening around town.

Horoscopes

Aries (March 21 - April 19): A sense of urgency may push you to act, but be careful not to rush into decisions. Take a moment to step back and reassess your priorities. This will allow you to make better choices and avoid potential missteps.

Taurus (April 20 - May 20): This week is all about setting boundaries. While you may feel a desire to help others, make sure your own needs are met first. By focusing on self-care, you’ll be more available when it matters most.

Gemini (May 21 - June 20): A whirlwind of social activity awaits you, with new connections coming into your orbit. While it’s exciting, make sure to balance the time you spend with others and take care of personal responsibilities that may be waiting for your attention.

Cancer (June 21 - July 22): Emotions run high this week, and you may feel a tug to revisit past situations. Try not to get lost in nostalgia; instead, use your memories as lessons to propel you forward. The future holds more for you than the past.

Leo (July 23 - August 22): Your leadership skills are shining through. People will look to you for guidance, and this is your chance to step up. However, remember that collaboration can be just as powerful as leading from the front.
