Raise A Glass King Family Vineyard won this year's Governor's Cup with their exceptional 2019 Meritage. This marks their impressive fourth victory. Afton Mountain Vineyards also earned recognition in this year's competition. Cheers to these outstanding local achievements in the world of winemaking!
Get Involved! Join local champion Tom Loach and other concerned neighbors to discuss the importance of organizing independent groups in Crozet and around Albemarle County to speak out on critical issues like the AC44 Comprehensive Plan update. The meeting will be held at the Crozet Park Community Building (behind the basketball courts) at 7:30pm this Thursday.
New Seafood Market Crozet Seafood Supply opens across from Harris Teeter on March 19th in the former Bacio location. In addition to fresh seafood delivered from the coast throughout the week, they’ll offer takeout options such as a fresh yellowfin tuna salad sandwich, crab cake sliders, and lobster rolls, all created with bread from Crozet's own Praha Bohemian Bakery.

Oak Bluff Challenged Four homeowners have taken legal action against Stanley Martin Homes that may temporarily halt Oak Bluff, a new 134 unit residential project proposed by Riverbend Development. The lawsuit asserts that a critical parcel of land within the Westlake Hills neighborhood cannot be legally annexed into the new development without the consent of the current homeowners.
Did You Know? On the morning of January 17th, the dam at the Sugar Hollow reservoir was accidentally breached releasing more than 60 million gallons of water into the Moorman’s River and creating a life-threatening flood surge? Fortunately, no injuries were reported. It is worth watching this video - holy smokes!

WAHS News and Notes
WAHS student-athletes have taken to the tennis court, stepped up to the softball and baseball plate, put on their track & field spikes, mounted their mountain bikes, and laced up their lacrosse and soccer cleats. Let a new season of games, matches, and races begin!
Spring teams & sporting clubs are putting in long hours after school and on weekends in preparation for championship runs.
Here is a snapshot of impressive scrimmage performances by our hometown Warriors:
Lacrosse goalie Maizey McCarthy made 10 saves in a 13-9 win over Collegiate.
Ananya Madaan dominated on the mound with a shutout performance over Wilson Memorial in Softball, where the Warriors won 10-0.
In a region final rematch from last season, the girls’ tennis team once again handled EC Class 6 matches to 3, while the boys’ squad took care of St. Christopher 9 matches to 4.
Warriors and EC Glass pre-match "good luck" face-off
Crozet United’s Warrior of the Week is sophomore Annie Alhusen, who pulled off a double hat-trick (yes, 6 goals!) for the Lady Warriors lacrosse team against Collegiate.

The Western Hemisphere WAHS has a newspaper, it’s amazing, you should read it!
Because this sports digest is a “for Crozet by Crozet operation,” please feel free to send in notable student accomplishments of the sporting and academic variety.
