It was a historic week for the record-breaking program:
34 different athletes delivered points to the team total
The girls tallied their 9th State Championship in school history, while the boys earned their 8th in the past 9 years
Jack Hathaway (100 Breaststroke), David King (200 IM and 100 Free), and Raina Fitzwater (Diving) came away as individual State Champions
Lucy Nicholson (500 Free) and David King (200 IM) broke Western school records at the meet
The boys swept the relay events (200 Medley, 200 Free, and 400 Free Relays) for the first time in team history
Wrestling
Cole McGuinty (175 lbs.) and Owen Townsend (215 lbs.) showed well at the State Tournament, placing 3rd and 5th respectively
Basketball
The Boys (19-5) rebounded after a tough last-second loss in the district final by dismantling Alleghany 79-34 in region tournament action
The Girls (17-7) also clawed back into regional contention with a tidy 48-33 win over Broadway
With their convincing wins, both squads advance to the region semifinals
Crozet United Warrior of the Week David King, whose dominant record-breaking performances both individually and as a part of winning relay teams, led the Warriors to their 7th straight State Championship.
